Core Values

One is either pre-disposed to these or not. Critical to building a sustainable community are the following core values – honesty, competency, care and empathy.

It cannot be emphasized enough why these are so crucial.

Please pause and reflect on it.

Respect for others means respecting their rights to their creations (properties). That is the raison d’être for the launch of HashRepos. There can be no two ways about it and it (respect) has to flow both ways. That is why the concept of conflict of interests exists. It does matter to respect ideas – more so if these ideas are outside one’s domain of expertise, more so these ideas are amalgamated into one collective concept accruing to an interest group.

A vision at the start, time invested initially to kick start an initiative, information gathering or first prototyping usually serves as a catalyst to an end point where the result is greater than the sum of the individual components. Without any of these components, the end point may not be reached sooner or at all. Stakeholders have a fiduciary duty to act in the interest of the group they collaborate in. Minimally, permission should be sought or an agreement entered into to reserve all rights. No matter how compelling it is to share information to outsider(s) from one’s perspective, respect must be shown to fellow stakeholders by seeking their inputs/consents. No action should be taken against the wishes or interests of the said group. A neater way is to adopt an arm’s length approach to avoid any misunderstanding. A fair and proper compensation for services rendered would neatly cover the bases. Otherwise trust would be lost or eroded and the venture would lose its vibrancy and no longer tenable nor sustainable.
